Internet Sales

The Reality of internet electronics, "gray market"or "trans-shipped"goods. If you check any manufacture's website, you will see that other then Crutchfield and a very few others, there are NO authorized internet retailers.

The Facts:

1. We see problems with more then 60% of products purchased on the internet. These percentages are even higher with auction sites. (Every time you have to get these defective products removed from your car, you lose your money on labor involved).

2. Most of the product we see that is sold online "as new" is actually refurbished. (There is a reason these products are being sold for less then we, as dealers pay.)

3. Manufactures track serial numbers and will not warranty, or even repair these products. (Since your web-dealer is not buying from the manufacture, you're stuck sending it back to them, then the scammers simply rebuild it again and then send it back to you.)

4. Third party Warranty Companies are a JOKE. (At best, after they deem it "not repairable" you will get your money back-less your deductible and the price of the warranty. Or you get back a product with another rebuild on it. After all that, did you really save anything?)

5. You have little to no legal recourse with these products. (We have heard many stories of customer's vehicles being damaged because of a poorly refurbished internet products!! Also there is no way to bench test alarms and remote starts). *For this reason we, like most shops, will not install internet purchased alarms and remote start units. They can be simply dangerous to you and your car.*

6. Auction sites are the worst gamble out there. ( If I had a penny for every disappointed auction site customer I've had to inform, "Their product either did not work, was missing parts, had serial #s scratched off, or simply would not work with their vehicle." I would be rich. These sites are a dumping ground for refurb, broken, or even stolen merchandise.)
